I’m Dana Enache, an author in Ireland. The shop is small, and so is the amount of information I ask for. If you have questions, or you want to know what I hold about you, email danaenache.books@gmail.com.
What I collect
Orders: your name, email address, delivery address and what you bought. For personalised stories, that includes the details you give me to write it. Stripe handles the payment, so I never see your card details and never store them.
Messages: if you write to me, I keep your message and address so I can reply.
Comments: if you comment on a story or article, your comment and the name you use are public. If you leave an email, I only use it to notify you about replies.
The basics: like any website, this one keeps simple technical records and uses your IP to tell which country you’re in, so the right region shows up. Not for tracking.
Why I use it, and my legal bases
To take, post and refund orders. Necessary for our contract.
To keep sales and tax records, as the law requires.
To keep the site running, prevent fraud and answer your messages. Legitimate interest.
Comments or anything else you opt into. Consent, which you can take back at any time.
Who I share it with
Stripe takes the payment, and An Post delivers your parcel and needs your name and address. The services that run this site (hosting, comments, email) only see what they need to do their job.
Some of them are outside the EEA, so transfers are covered by safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. I never sell your data.
How long I keep it
Order and tax records: six years, as Irish tax law requires. Stripe keeps payment records under its own policy.
Emails: as long as I need them to help you or remember our conversation. Usually no more than two years.
Comments: until you ask me to take them down.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it’s used, get a copy, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email danaenache.books@gmail.com and I’ll reply within a month. If you’re not happy with my answer, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Cookies and local storage
No advertising or analytics cookies here. Your browser stores a few things (your theme, country, basket, reading progress) so the site works properly. You can clear them in your browser settings any time.
Changes to this policy
I’ll update this page when something changes. The version published here when you use the site applies.
